Let me tell you a little bit about my wife.
Proverbs 31:10-31
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls (OK, we don't have servant girls...) She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet (except me, I'm an Auburn fan.) She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and her faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
My wife excels at all she does. She is a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She is far from perfect, but she is the greatest there is. She is my rock when I need her to be my rock; my nurse when I need a nurse; my prophet when I need a rebuke; and my biggest fan when I need a pat on the back. I am so guilty of taking this wonderful woman for granted. Let me share with you some of the characteristics of Jodi that stand out to me in this text:
1) Her husband has full confidence in her-- There are few, if any, I trust more than Jodi.
2) She gets up while it is still dark; and provides food for her family
3) She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks
4) Her lamp does not go out at night
5) She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy
6) She is clothed with strength and dignity
7) She can laugh at the days to come
8) She speaks wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
9) She watches over the affairs of her household
10) She does not eat the bread of idleness
11) Her husband calls her blessed and praises her (though not enough)
12) She is beautiful
13) She fears the Lord
Those of you who have wives. Look at the characteristics of a noble wife. What characteristics does your wife have? Do you praise her for them. You are to love your wife the way that Christ loves the church. Don't take her for granted. Let her know today how much she means to you.

How humbling. Don't forget the line that her husband is respected at the city gates and sits among the elders of the land. You are respected to sit among the wise because you are a large contributor to their wealth of knowledge and I benefit by being in the presence of this greatness everyday. I love you.
I am so greatful for the example you two live out in your daily lives. Thank you for letting me stand by your side on lyour wedding day and know that I pray for your marriage often. Thank you both for being transparent, it is an encouragement!! Love you both.
