It is not uncommon to have fever post-op, but it isn't good either. If you are still up and able, pray now for it to go down. They will not give him tylenol because it will not help. He is going ot begin an antibiotic shortly to begin attacting the possible infection that has set in and caused the fever. Pray the antibiotic is rapid. Pray for rest when available and endurance when needed. He needs to breath with the barometer, but he is also SO TIRED.
Pray also for this PICC line. They haven't flushed it in over 24 hours, so it is being finicky. It will flush, but there is no return, which means there is possible clotting. We need blood return for a test they are seeking to run to see what the infection may be that is causing the fever. The nurse just tried again to get a return from the other lumen, and got nothing. WE DO NOT WANT TO PULL THE PICC AND REINSERT ANOTHER ONE. Pray this one lasts through the duration of the remainder of recovery.
I am hoping to stay with Jeremy tonight, but they just announced that visiting hours are now over. Pray they don't kick me out. :)
