Exhausted

So the nurse came back in and told me that I had been released on pass until 9pm tonight. 9pm!
Mom and I headed out to the metro station and headed into DC. Our first stop, the museum of natural history. Our goal was to find some good food and find some presents to bring home to the girls. We found the cafeteria and I commenced to eating. Rotisserie chicken, potato chips and Bryar Nibs. Now cafeteria food at the Smithsonian isn't really that good, but I think it was the best chicken I've ever eaten in my life. I took a picture when I got done.

We went through one exhibit and then made our way to the American History Museum. There I found some gifts for the girls and we saw the Star Spangled Banner. I had to walk up a flight of steps in order to get out of the museum, and whoa! I was whipped. Mom and I headed back to the subway to come back to the hospital. I still have nearly 5 hours on my pass, but I'm exhausted.

Today was a good test for my body. Many of you know that I tend to move at 90mph everywhere I go. Today taught me that I'm going to have to take it easy when I get home, move slowly, and ease back into life. I don't think it will take too long though... you know how much I love to wait!

Yesterday, I was thinking about the events of the last two weeks and the song "Exactly What I Need" came to mind.
"When I thought I needed sunshine, the Lord sent a rain.
When I thought I needed healing, I had my share of pain.
I've been looking for the mountain top, but the valley's all I see.
Jesus always seems to know exactly what I need.
He knows exactly what I need, to walk the narrow way.
Jesus knows how to keep my humble,
and how to make me pray.
He knows when the clouds cover the sky, when I'm walking through the valley low.
I'll be on my knees, calling on Him. There's no other place to go."
Those lyrics are so appropriate for the season we all just endured. I'm so glad that you will be back in Hayden soon. We all are walking closer to Him. It's amazing.

So excited to hear you are going home. The best medicine will be at home with those girls. Enjoying being reunited as a family.
We will be praying for you to regain your strength. -GaLynn
