Lung Update #3 - He walks

We have been up 2 times now and taken short jaunts down the hallway to regulate movement for Jeremy's body. He did vomit again on the first walk, which was much earlier this morning - around 9:30 or so. We just took another lap and he was able to do so with minimal nausea. He is now napping again. The plan is still for Jeremy to be transferred to a step down unit room; however, the wing in which he is to move is currently full. Continue to pray for the nausea and the drive. I could see the fruit of your labor in your petitions to the Lord with his drive to get up again and take another lap. The surgeon came by and spoke with us again and assured him once more that he was able to get the entire mass of infection. He also assured Jeremy that he would be able to be athletically involved again. Jeremy asked what the symptoms would be if he did over exert himself attempting a strenuous athletic ability and the surgeon said, "shortness of breath." That is something we can live with. We can identify that quickly and we can regulate stopping the activity to relieve the shortness of breath.

More to come. Keep praying. Additional to the other requests for recovery, pray for his entire body to be rid of the infection. There is that looming concern that since this infection was so intense and massive, there might be a chance that this infection could be located elsewhere. When he returns for a follow up, he will have a full body bone scan along with an MRI to search for infecton. Begin praying for that as well. I know that many of you are, but just the same...pray.

God is continuing to provide for us in more than adequate ways. His nurses from the ICU unit are very kind and attentive to his needs. They are intrigued by what we do and allows us to share our faith. We pray we continue to do so. Pray for Jeremy as the fatigue makes a positive and pleasant attitude a tad more challenging. :) This too shall pass...

Can't wait to share with you his next point of progress. Thanks for all the words of encouragement.

So glad to hear that Jeremy is up and walking! Our prayers continue for Jeremy's recovery time to be quick, that the pain will subside, and that God gives you the strength to cope with all the stress.
What a great witness for Him you are being to so many people!
God is Good and He is watching over you while you are away from us.
We love you
