At least we're moving forward...

Finally, after not eating for 3 full days, the Docs finally decided to take a look at my pancreas and gall bladder via ultrasound to see if there was inflammation or gall stones.

We received good news and bad. My pancreas was not inflamed. My gall bladder showed no signs of stones. My liver looked completely normal. This is good news, because it means that I don't have to have surgery tonight to remove my gall bladder. It is bad news is that we still don't know what is causing the elevation in pancreatic numbers. I spoke with the doctor and he said that the pancreatitis is probably a result of medications that I have been on since surgery. However, we have paired down those meds and I haven't stimulated my digestive system by eating since Thursday night (I had penne pasta with a piece of grilled chicken... it was glorious!).

So we wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow morning we will have more blood work to see if the numbers are decreasing. We will also have a CT scan scheduled to see if the space in my chest has filled in with good tissue.

It was so good to see you all today. I watched the entire service from the webcam in the balcony. Jason and the rest of the staff is to be commended, they are doing a great job in my absence.

I love you all and miss you. Tomorrow is God's day, I have a feeling He just might show up.

Jeremy, The church I attend here in Hoover is praying for you daily. It was good to see Jodi yesterday at the prayer service. We are yet to see what God is accomplishing through all this but it must be what we all need. I am praying particularly for new and better research into remedies for the disease. I go to sleep praying for you and wake with a prayer as well waiting for your blog. God bless. Vera
