I just got back from the minor surgical procedure downstairs. It was a doozy. They didn't completely sedate me, but wow, I'm knocked out. The large chest tube that was roughly 3/4 in to 1in in diameter has now been removed and replaced with a much smaller chest tube that is roughly the size of one of my PICC line tubes. Really, compared to what I've had, this is tiny. Overnight this tube will drain into a large laptop size bucket, but that will be replaced on the morrow with a smaller drainage collector. This collection receptacle will be very mobile and I can hide it beneath clothes and I can come home with it. At this point, for all intensive purposes, the surgical team here is finished with me for a while. They have made wonderful statements about me, statements that are a testimony to God's goodness. They shared with me that I actually look stronger now, than I did the day before my surgery, and that my body has recovered around 90% from the MAJOR operation that it had undergone.
Now when I say major.... I mean major... I'll show you the scar.... it was big.
So pray that my new tube won't cause too much pain tonight as I sleep. Pray I will be able to rest. Pray that my Pancreatic enzymes will fall dramatically tomorrow. A dramatic change would be incredible.
I love you all and am so very proud of each of you.
